The last Friday of the month Critical Mass meets at Woodruff Park downtown and rides the streets of Atlanta (the route is always "creative" but more often than not, proceeds down/up Ponce) to increase bicycle visibility and to create a stronger community that promotes alternative transportation.
The next one is set for Friday, August 31, 2007, 6:30 PM.
Thanks MDM!

I think Critical Mass is a great concept with horrible execution. The riders of Critical Mass consistently break the law by blowing red lights and riding more than 2 abreast to take over the whole road. Trying to get people to obey traffic laws and acknowledge bikers is incredibly hypocritical and self-righteous if you're breaking the law in the process of doing so. If you would like to see a video of what I'm talking about, here's a link to a blog entry with some video. If you have anything to do with this ride, please do what you can to fix it.
